Our 1st IT Lesson

Hi gracious children!

We just had our first IT lesson yesterday. We learnt about the different parts of the computer, namely the monitor, keyboard, Central Processing Unit (CPU) and mouse. The parts are described briefly below:
  • Monitor - This receives information from the CPU and displays images on the screen like a television.

  • keyboard - This contains a set of keys which we use to enter (text or data) into a computer.

  • Central Processing Unit (CPU) - This works like the brain of the computer to carry out instructions and store information.

  • Mouse - When rolled along a flat suface, it helps you to move the cursor on the computer screen. There are left- and right-click buttons.

The Start of the Fasting Month

Good evening gracious children!

Tomorrow marks the start of the fasting month for the Muslim community in Singapore. Fasting is a compulsory religious action that Muslims have to go through for a month.

This is to remind us of the hardships and suffering of other people who are less fortunate than us. Muslims will abstain (stay away) from food and drinks from dawn (when the sun rises) till dusk (when the sun sets). Muslims also have to be careful with what they say and to stay away from gossips and lies. The month when Muslims fast is called Ramadhan and during this month, we have to cleanse and purify ourselves.

If you want to know more about the dos and don'ts during the fasting month, click on this website... www.ncbis.org/Parents'%20Group/Ramadan%20Slides.ppt

If you have any questions regarding this month, do e-mail me at the LEAD account or key it in the chatbox at the side of our blog here.

New Plants for Our Aquarium

Good day my gracious children!

I just got back from school and I wanted to share with you what happened in class today. Today was the 2nd day of the PSLE Oral Exams and our class was used as one of the examination rooms.

I went ot our classroom and looked and fed our guppies and guess what I discovered? I saw 2 new baby guppies swimming around. I was so happy that I told Ms Diana Goh (who provided the fishes) to have a look at the aquarium. She advised me to put in water plants so that the dangling roots can provide the baby guppies with a place to hide from the bigger guppies. This is because the bigger guppies may eat the baby guppies.

So don't be alarmed or shocked when you see the aquarium on Monday with the new plants! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

P/S: I may not be able to update for the 2 days because I would be going to Malacca with my family. :( See you soon.

Lots of love,

Mr Fadzeel

Hi gracious children from P2 Graciousness!

It's been a long time since I last updated our class blog. I'm very sorry but I've been very busy with getting our class ready for lessons, like buying the fishes and looking for terrapins and also purchasing resources for all of us to us.

I hope that all of you have enjoyed the last Big Book that we went through. Do you remember the title of our last Big Book? (Hint: It has something to do about pets!)

Over the next two days, I won't be seeing you in school. You have been assigned worksheets and e-learning tasks on the LEAD portal (http://www.lead.com.sg/). I hope that you will do your work deligently and also more importantly, is to do the work on your own. Try your best, we will go through the work on Monday.

I've noticed that some of you are still forgetting to bring things to school. For example, yesterday's art lesson. Some of you did not bring your art materials. It wouldn't be fair to yourself because you will need to share with your friends and you will have to wait for your friends to finish using the art materials first. This will then make you finish later then your friends.

By having your own resources like
  • pencils
  • green pen
  • ruler
  • eraser
  • whiteboard marker
  • pupil's companion
  • thermometer
  • sharpener
  • drawing block
  • crayons

we can have a more exciting and fun day in school. We wouldn't need to borrow from our friends and we can do our work more quickly.

Next week we'll be having our class tests. What I want you to do is to relax and don't be nervous. When we get tensed and nervous, we will be unable to think properly and we are unable to answer the test questions. Here's a video to help you relax for a while. Have fun!

See you on Monday!

My Graduation Day

Hi 2 Graciousness,

Today I was not in school again because I attended my investiture ceremony together with my parents. It is something like our Prize Giving Day where all the awards and certificates will be given out to the students.

The day was quite memorable because I met up with my old friends again. We had lots of fun catching up on old times and talking about our experiences so far in other schools.

Then came the ceremony and all of us were seated in the auditorium. I was clapping and cheering my friends as they went up the stage to receive their diplomas. Then my turn came and I was nervous. I was afraid that I would trip on stage or hit someone or something. But after shaking hands with the Dean (something like a principal), I overcame my nerves and walked off the stage, proud of myself.

After the ceremony, we had some light refreshments where I got to mingle with more of my friends and their families. It was a great way to socialise and chat with people. We kept telling one another to stay in touch and not forget one another. I'm sure I'm going to miss them.

Anyway, enough about me. Right now, I want to hear about you. I asked the relief teacher to help me with some work with all of you and I hope that you've done it. :) We will be writing our individual compositions tomorrow. And it would be about a favourite weather of yours.

See you tmr!

Love,
Mr Fadzeel

Note from Mr Fadzeel

Hi my gracious children,

I've just set up this blog to give you the opportunity to express yourselves as well as to provide you with a stepping stone to guide you in your learning. We will embarking or going on a journey of exciting learning and discovery together.

With the H1N1 virus spreading around the world, we must always be very careful and take extra care in maintaining our hygiene. We must use the 8-steps in washing our hands and always use a tissue to cover our mouths when we cough or sneeze. This is another act of graciousness and care for yourself and your friends and teachers around you.

:(
I am not feeling well today and I have gone to the doctor for medication. I do hope that all of you are fit and healthy and will continue with the lessons that the teachers have for you today! :)

Remember:
  • Eyes on the person who is t_______
  • Use your __-inch voice
  • No w______ around unnecessarily
  • Raise your h____ if you have a question or something to say or do
  • Keep your classroom clean and tidy
If I am well enough to return to school tmr, we will try and fly our kites after Mother Tongue. But I expect you to be at your best behaviour at all times! And I know each and everyone of you are able to do it! :)

Take care and have a great day!
